How long does a typical real estate photography session take?

The duration of a real estate photography session depends on the size of the property, the number of rooms to be photographed, and any additional services requested. On average, a standard session can range from one to three hours. I will work efficiently to capture all the necessary shots without compromising on quality.

Pre-Shoot Checklist

GENERAL

  • Remove as much clutter as possible; especially personal belongings that are not included in the sale.

  • Open up blinds and remove any fixed window coverings that block natural light.

  • Turn off all TVs, computer screens, and ceiling fans.

  • Make beds, straighten picture frames/artwork, organize pillows, etc.

  • Make sure there are no clothes in the machines or hanging in the laundry room.

LIGHTING

  • All interior and exterior lights on, including floor lamps, table lamps, under-cabinet lighting, stove top lighting, bedside lamps, and other secondary light sources.

  • Replace any burnt light bulbs and ensure all bulbs are the same color temperature.

KITCHEN

  • Clear the fridge completely – Remove all magnets, photos, lists, etc.

  • Remove all non-decorative items from counters (dish soap, paper towels, phones, cleaning supplies, etc.).

  • Make sure the sink is clean and free of dishes.

  • Remove trash can completely (if visible).

BATHROOMS

  • Lower all toilet seats.

  • Clear countertops of non-decorative items.

  • Remove toiletries from bath/shower area(curtains/door should be open to show off tiling/fixtures).

  • Clean the mirrors and place a fresh roll of toilet paper on the holder.

PETS

  • Keep pets out of the way during the shoot.

  • Put away pet supplies, including food/water bowls, crates, toys, etc.
